Using the
image of a bridge as a company logo is simple symbolism. Rich Vander
Broek has "spanned the gap" between ideas and real products
and services his entire career. "It harks back to my schooling,
I suppose," says Rich, who graduated with a BA from Hope College
and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University.
"I wanted an icon that represents the creative transitions
I have experienced both in the arts and business. There needs to
be structure as well as a vision to produce a future outcome."

Rich
got his start using the Internet as a business channel, not by
design, but rather as a result of early exposure and quick recognition
of it as a marketing angle. Working several years as a salesman
and then many more as a marketing executive, Rich took notice
whenever there appeared to be a unique way to connect with customers.
After all, a fundamental objective in marketing is to differentiate
products, services and companies. The Internet was the way
potentially powerful and definitely new and different.

- So, in the early 90's, even
before the advent of the world wide web, he set out to pave new ways
to sell, promote and exchange information via the Internet. It was while
working in the title insurance industry that he proposed strategies
that built professional relationships around the new technology. His
enthusiasm and persistent focus on using this new business channel produced
successful customer relationship methods, streamlined ordering methods,
and finally a full blown e-commerce web site. In 1994, Rich and a few
others created a community computer network which has provided thousands
the opportunity to use and understand the Internet.
As a professional consultant,
Rich believes the most important thing he can do for a client is to
help them understand the Internet as a business channel and clarify
how it can make a difference to them, then develop a strategy that
will help them achieve their objectives in business.
